Kenneth Scheffler Obituary

Kenneth Alphonce Scheffler passed away on July 25, at the age of 86. Kenneth was born on May 31, 1936, in Cuero, Texas, to parents Alphonce and Minnie Scheffler. He will be remembered as a proud and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and devoted friend.

Kenneth received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Education degrees from Southwest Texas State College before moving to

Baytown, Texas, and beginning his 32-year teaching career at Lee College. He was an outstanding and beloved professor of accounting. He truly cared for and loved each one of his students and went to great, sometimes extreme, lengths to ensure their success, not only in the classroom but also in life's journey. Kenneth was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Melba Hahn. He is survived by his children, Karen White and husband, Mark, Kimberly Crain and husband, Larry, Kristi Tindol and husband, Rodney and Keith Scheffler and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Sara White, Samantha Howe and husband, Blake, Luke Crain and wife, Ashley, Kayla Thibodaux and husband, Patrick, Sydney Tindol, Abby Tindol, and Kyle Scheffler; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School located at 1811 Carolina Avenue, Baytown, Texas 77520.

My deepest condolences to Ken´s family. He was my Accounting instructor at Lee College in the early 90´s. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He will always be remembered for his blue fingers because of the overhead projector he used.
