Allan McKinnon Obituary

Our loving father, Allan McKinnon, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 303 Cullum Drive, Euless. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Relief Fund of the Dallas Foundation, 900 Jackson St., Suite 705, Dallas, Texas 75202.
We remember his great love for his family and friends, his sense of humor and his love of fine food and wine. A world traveler, he made many close friends, but in his quieter moments his heart lay in listening to country music and spending time in the bush in his native land, South Africa.
Survivors: Allan will be sadly missed by all his many friends and by his daughters, Gillian McKinon of Australia, Melina and husband, Michael Cain, of Dallas, and Angelique and husband, Brian Lorig of California; his sisters, Hazel, Valerie, Avril and Irene; and his grandchildren, Creed, Kaitlyn and Davis.

I just heard today of Allan's death. I am heartbroken. There are no words, and I will hold him in my heart forever. He was a truley beautiful man, inside and out. My only comfort today, as I digest this news and grieve for him, is that he is in Heaven with your equally beautiful and never forgotten Mom.
You girls are too young to have lost both your parents, and I know you will live the rest of your own lives in their honor. It was a priveledge to have known your parents and I am deeply sorry for your loss.
