Ann Hase Obituary

Ann Remington Hase, 83, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at University Christian Church. Family interment: 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: Expressions of sympathy may be made to University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76109; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 3840 Hulen St., Suite 600, Fort Worth, Texas 76107; or a charity of choice. Ann was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Fort Worth to Dorotha Sweet Remington and Alton T. Remington. Her mother was part of an extended family of early Tarrant County settlers. Her father was a land man, starting with Pure Oil Company. As a result of her father's work, Ann grew up and attended schools in places including Van and Abilene, Texas, Jackson, Miss., and Shreveport, La., where she graduated from Byrd High School. After she graduated from high school, her family moved back to Fort Worth and she attended classes at TCU. Ann grew up in, and was an active member of Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) wherever she lived. She was a great mom and showed it by being active in her sons' lives and supporting them in all their ambitions and activities, including Blue Raider baseball, being a den mother for their scouting adventures, a room mother in their schools as well as volunteering in the school offices. Ann was a distant relative of artist Frederic Remington and she would purchase reproductions of his work for herself and her sons. She was an active volunteer at local hospitals after her youngest son started school. She was a loyal Texas Rangers fan and an avid TCU supporter. Survivors: Loving husband of 59 years, Orville; grateful sons, Don, Gary and wife, Sharon, and Ross. Having raised three sons, she was thrilled to have three granddaughters to dote on, Laura Tucker and her husband, Vallen, Lisa Frosch and her husband, Brandon, their daughter, Summer, and the youngest, Elissa Ann Hase. She is also survived by her younger sister, Patricia Roe, as well as numerous cousins and friends. No words can express Ann's love for her family and theirs for her.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of such a sweet and kind lady. I had the pleasure of knowing and caring for Ann at Mirabella Assisted Living. I call her Ann because she wouldn't let me call her Mrs. Hase :). She will sure be missed.

Orville and family - I am so sorry to hear of Ann's passing. She was such a kind, sweet person. I remember seeing her every Sunday at UCC as well as throughout the week when she came for other activities. I know she is rejoicing in Heaven now, and God has another angel at his side.
