Beatrice Kohn Obituary

Beatrice Elizabeth Kohn died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at the age of 89.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
She was born Aug. 10, 1920. Death almost took her in 1955, but she survived and treasured life for many years thereafter with gusto. She loved life and, most of all, passionately loved her family. Bea had a great sense of humor and loved to surprise her family and others with it. Her family members all mourn her loss deeply. Her husband, Malcolm "Mickey" Kohn, whom she married in 1941, died in 1992. Their marriage was a real love match from beginning to end. They rest together now in Arlington. Prior to her husband's death, they were both active members of Congregation Beth Shalom in Arlington. After her husband's death, she moved to Medford, Ore., where she was an active member of the Manor Retirement Community. Her family will miss her and cherish her memory. May she rest in peace with her beloved Mickey.
Survivors: Her sons, Bob Kohn and wife, Elizabeth, of Birmingham, Ala., and Dr. Bill Kohn and wife, Carolyn, of Grants Pass, Ore.; grandchildren, Renee' Kohn, Alan Kohn, Tyler Kohn, Eleanor Brown, Stephanie Blakeman and Metta Willey; and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
