Birdie Snowden Obituary

Birdie Louise Snowden, 77, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Arlington. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday, Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Rd. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Birdie Louise Snowden was born May 25, 1927, in Palmer. Her greatest desire was for her family, immediate and extended, to be close, love one another, to seek the Lord and love him foremost with all their hearts, souls and might. She taught us to make a positive difference in someone's life each day. She was preceded in death by husband, the Rev. Jessie Leonard Snowden; parents, William Clark and Mildred Duffer; brother, Herbert Clark; sisters, Katherine Moore and Frances Stidger.

The family would like to express its sincerest thanks to Carol Brown and the loving staff of Meadow View Assisted Living, Dr. Yong Chang, Kim Nowlin, Dr. Mitchell Kuppinger, Kelli Thurman, Bekki MacIntosh, Dr. Stephen Vignale, Kindred Rehabilitation Hospital and the second and third floor staffs of Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Birdie was a devoted Christian whose kind and gentle heart touched the lives of everyone with whom she came into contact.

Finally, the family wishes to praise the Lord Jesus Christ, who guides and directs the paths of those who know him through Jesus Christ. Her family is saddened by this loss, but rejoices in the unfailing knowledge that they will all be together again. Our Redeemer lives. He has conquered death, and because of that, we can have eternal life.

Survivors: Daughters, Sandra Richardson and husband, Monte, and Kathy Gilpin and husband, Wayne; grandson, Brady Snowden; granddaughter, Katherine Gilpin; sister, Mildred Wolfe; brother, Billy Clark; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

If you looked up the word "Saint" in the Dictionary you would find a picture of Louise Snowden beside it. Louise was a friend to all that ever met her. She was a prayer warrior. She loved her lord very much and is now spending eternity with her lord, her husband, and all the other angels in heaven.

I will miss her very much but, I know that I will see her again someday. We all love you Ms. Louise!

Louise was a very dear person and will always hold a special place in my heart. The last time I saw her was on my birthday, September 11th, 2001. I went to visit her in the hospital while America was under attack on the television. We lost touch after that, but I thought about her often. She helped me get through some trying times in my life with her prayer and love. Thank you Louise, for sharing your spirit with me. May the wings of angels fly you home and carry you to your rest.
