Saginaw, Texas - David Roach, 79, passed away September 29, 2022. It was his request that his body be cremated. His ashes will be interred at the Saginaw Cemetery.
David was born December 17, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth and lived in Saginaw since 1977. He graduated from Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School. David received his Bachelor's Degree from North Texas State University, and his Master's Degree from TCU. He was a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal for the Fort Worth ISD. He took early retirement from Fort Worth ISD in 1996, and then spent 12 years working as an Adult Probation Officer for Tarrant County. After retiring from the probation department in 2008, David did substitute teaching in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. He always said that being around teenagers kept his mind young.
David was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His other interests were bass fishing and growing vegetables in his garden (which he shared with friends and neighbors).
He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force.
David married the love of his life, Debra Jean Scofield, on August 3, 1979. Together, David and Debbie raised a daughter and a son. He was very proud of his children and loved them more than they will ever know.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Roach; mother, Daisy Fowler; and sister, Nancy Coleman.
Survived by his wife, Debra Roach; daughter, Courtney Wimberley and her husband Kirk; son, Christopher Roach; granddaughter, Ainsley Nicholson; and grandsons Colin and Aiden Nicholson.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8th at Saginaw Cemetery, West McLeroy Blvd. Anyone is welcome to pay their respects.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the charity of your choice.
