Donna Jobe Obituary

Donna Rhoten Jobe, 83, sadly passed away November 12th, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Memorial Service to be held at 11 a.m. January 17, 2026 at University Baptist Church, 2720 Wabash Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America in her memory.

Donna was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Donald and Louise Rhoten on October 18, 1942. Raised in Fort Worth with her brother, Bill Rhoten and sister, Rhonda Clark, she graduated from Poly High School in 1960. Donna went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Education from North Texas State University where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. In her last year of school, she met her future husband Charles Jobe on a blind date, and they married in 1965. Donna worked in Fort Worth schools before moving to Austin for Charles' work in 1970. They welcomed their first son Bryan on Donna's birthday in 1971 and then their second son Reagan in 1974. She kept busy raising their boys, playing tennis and volunteering at their preschool. The family moved back to their native Fort Worth in 1976 where they set down roots and enjoyed building a life around family. Donna was a Den Mother in cub scouts, volunteered at the school library, stayed active in the Kappa Delta sorority at TCU along with keeping up her tennis game. In 1989 she returned to school at her old Alma Mater, now University of North Texas, earning a Master of Library Science. For the next twenty years, she enjoyed the position of Librarian at Woodway Elementary School.

Always active, always learning, Donna was passionate about reading, collecting antiques and holiday decorations, gardening, calligraphy, tap dancing and travel. She fell in love with Santa Fe, New Mexico where she and Charles would spend many a summer month escaping the Texas heat.

Donna is survived by her sister Rhonda Clark; son Bryan, his wife Camille and two grandsons Cooper and Patton; her son Reagan and his wife Lisa, many nieces and nephews and scores of lifelong friends.

Donna was a friend to all and will be deeply missed.

A heart-felt thank you to Reagan and Lisa, David Garner and Journey Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Donna in the last few years.
