James Paul Jobe died Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home in rural Pine City at the age of 82.
He was born January 1, 1944 in Salinas, California to Floyd S. and Evelyn M. (Strese) Jobe. James was a graduate of North St. Paul High School and later enlisted with the United States Army. He served in Vietnam from 1962 until 1968.
Following his military service, he returned to St. Paul. There he worked for UPS, was a truck driver and was a self employed carpenter. In 1987 he married Theresa Hubbard. James continued truck driving until he retired at the age of 75.
James was a member of the Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51, enjoyed deer hunting and especially enjoyed his hobby farm raising cattle and hogs.
James is survived by his children Joshua (Barbie) Reinke of Milaca, Daniel Jobe and Michael (Valerie) Acciari of Milaca; siblings: Robert (Bonnie) Jobe of Mora, Jean (Ron) Hedger of San Antonio, TX, Joyce Kolb of Green Forest, AR and Ralph Hardy (Susie) Jobe of Cape Coral, FL; several grandchildren including: Kailey, Alexis and Emily.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Evelyn; wife, Theresa; sister, Doris Ruth Westberg.
Graveside service for James: 12:30 PM; Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Family and friends may gather at Assembly Area 6 at 12:15pm.
