Forrest Newlin Obituary

Forrest A. Newlin, 64, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: Service pending. Burial: Maplewood Memorial Lawn, 2000 Prairie St., Emporia, Kan. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Forrest A. Newlin was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Emporia. He was a professor at Texas Christian University since 1993, and was chairman of the Theater Department. Forrest served on the board of directors of Stage West and was a Mason at Masonic Lodge. Forrest was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Arthur Newlin.

Survivors: Wife, Margaret Charlene Newlin of Fort Worth; daughter, Cindy Newlin of Lubbock; son, Mark A. Newlin and wife, Denise, of Lubbock; mother, Velma Collins of Wichita, Kan.; brothers, Alfred Newlin of Marysville, Kan., and Terry Newlin of Wichita; and sister, Nelda Ellington of Wichita.

Words cannot express the joy that we have felt knowing Dr. Newlin. He was a tremendous individual who gave so much of himself to so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who love him, and we thank God that we were able to know and love him too.
