George Geisel Obituary

George "Gigi" Geisel, 33, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004.

Memorial Service: A private family memorial will be held Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.

Gigi was born in Spain on Sept. 27, 1970. Gigi lived without the senses of sight and hearing. Through his limited senses and wide range of emotions, he was able to communicate his feelings, desires, pleasures and satisfactions, as well as love. He lived and was cared for at home until his early teen years, when he was enrolled at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austin. After earning a high school diploma at TSBVI, he moved to the Edinburgh group home in Arlington, where he lived the remainder of his life. Gigi always enjoyed Sundays in the home of his mother, Macrine, and stepfather, Bryan. He responded to their loving touch and showed much delight in dining on his mother's special meals and treats that were prepared with his taste in mind. Gigi was a strikingly handsome young man who brought much joy to the life of his family and friends in the group home. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew him.

Survivors: Father, Randy Geisel of Arlington; mother and stepfather, Macrine and Bryan Helbert of Fort Worth; grandparents, Lawrence Manasco of La Coruna, Spain, and Cliff and Ann Helbert of Fort Worth; sister, Sandra Kinney and husband, Jessie, of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Batiendo tus alas de amor

vuelas hacia lo mas alto.

Envolviendote…

Gigi is quite an inspiration to those of us who may feel that our "limitations" are unsurmountable. "No eye has seen and no hear has heard the glory of the kingdom of heaven." Now Gigi has witnessed both! God bless him and his family.
