Greg Dobbs Obituary
December 27, 1960 - January 10, 2024
Manchaca, Texas - Don Gregory Dobbs, Greg to all who knew and loved him, sadly passed away in Kyle, Texas at age 63 on January 10, 2023, from a seizure followed by a fall. Greg is the beloved son of Diane and Jerry Dobbs of Fort Worth.
Greg was born and grew up in Fort Worth and received his diploma from Arlington Heights High School. Greg later worked for Tandy and Garden Ridge for many years. He always had a strong work ethic and desire to do the best job he could. He lived at home with his parents until 1999 when he moved to Marbridge Ranch near Austin. There he enjoyed a diversity of classes like math, geography, music and sports activities including Special Olympics. He was proud to receive medals and trophies in bowling, golf and bocce. Greg enjoyed several hobbies including Dallas Cowboys, playing golf, bowling, pool, and shelling pecans for his mother and his favorite pie. Thanks to early lessons from his grandfather, golf pro J.R. Taylor, Greg could hit a line drive straight down the fairway. Taught by his father and his brother John, he was a shark at the family pool table, and was a fun opponent.
Greg loved his family and was exceptionally devoted to his mother who gave so much to his care. He courageously faced many health challenges in his life, and despite them he was determined to do the best he could and never give up. Greg's family believed in him, loved him, and he is very greatly missed.
Surviving to mourn him are his parents, Jerry and Diane Dobbs, sister, Jamey Dobbs (Gary McCracken) of Knoxville, TN, and brother, John Dobbs (Susan) of Calico Rock, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 28 at the Chapel of University Christian Church, 2720 South University Dr. in Fort Worth.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Marbridge Foundation or University Christian Church.

Greg was always a smiling, happy man. We had many laughs over Peanut M &M's. He enjoyed chasing the tennis balls that were hit over the fence, and
such a look of satisfaction, when he threw them back onto the court. He will
be missed by all, but the memories will last forever. Sorry for your loss!!!
