James Gourley Obituary

James "Jim" Elliott Gourley Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Memorial service: 2 p.m., Saturday, August 27, at the First Presbyterian Church, 303 W. Bridge Street, Granbury. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jim's honor be made to The Chileda School, 1825 Victory Street, La Crosse, WI 54601. Jim was born Sept. 9, 1935. He married Margaret "Allene" Murphey on May 8, 1958. Allene passed away in 2011. He married Mary Genevieve Swinney Howard on Dec. 12, 2012. They lived in Pecan Plantation in Granbury. Survivors: His "Sweetie," Mary Gourley of Granbury; sister, Betty Ludwig of Harrisburg, Pa.; sons, Douglas (Marcia) of La Crosse, Wis.; Ronald (Alicia) of Southlake and children, Sarah (Paul Idziak, and children Piper and Roman), Logan and Raquel; Kenneth of Madison, Wis. and his children, Rylee (Ross Schuchardt, and children Easton and Otto) and Breckken; and by his daughter, Wendy Gourley Sullivan (Douglas) of LaCrosse, Wis., and their children, Bailey, Keegan, Griffin and Ella; and many family members and friends. "A man of God, a man of his word, and a man that will always be loved and missed by his family and friends."
