James Lumby Obituary

James J. "Jim" Lumby, 63, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Smithfield, 7912 Main St., North Richland Hills. Burial: Smithfield Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jim was a member of SBC for almost 10 years. He served his country as member of the U.S. Air Force for over 21 1/2 years. He retired as a master sergeant June 1, 1981. He was stationed in Okinawa for 3 1/2 years and in the Philippines for five years. He then worked for Northrup Grumman from April 1982 to Dec. 1, 2003, at which time he could have retired.

He was preceded in death by his father, Auburn Harrison, and a daughter, Lynette Lumby Bates.

Survivors: His wife of 36 years, Frances Lumby; children, Michael Lumby and wife, Paula, Pamela Jennings and husband, Bob, Robert Lumby and wife, Jennifer, Lori Nicks and husband, Richard, James J. Lumby II and wife, Amee, Leigh Payne and husband, Brian, Bruce Lumby and wife, Diane, Brian Lumby and wife, Nami, Byrl Lumby and wife, Maria, and Sherri Easley and husband, Terry; mother, Georgia Harrison; brothers, J.D. Thomas, J.R. Thomas and Ronnie Chumbly; sister, Juanita Bernel; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
