She was also the longest life member of the Cutters in Action Foundation, Ridglea Country Club and was appointed by Gov. Preston Smith to the State Historical Survey Committee where many hours were enjoyably given.
Skeet was instrumental in founding the Junior League Historical Preservation Scrap Book and helped to save many historical landmarks around Fort Worth.
Her greatest joy was pride in all the generations of her family.
In addition to her husband, Skeet was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Bailey Saunders III.

Tisa, Jimbo, and family,
It's been a long time since I've seen you. But my thoughts are with you now. Having Jim and Skeet as Godparents was such a blessing. I have many rich memories of our time visiting, hunting, fishing, plinking, etc at the farm. I regret I wasnt more urgent about visiting Skeet in recent years. She was such a bright spot in so many lives, and still is for me. Christie and I love her dearly and she'll never leave our hearts. Our prayers are with you.

To Jimbo and family,
I have known and loved Skeet since
I first met her in 5th grade. She gave me my nickname "Morale" and it
stuck for decades. Over the years when I was moving and traveling around the U.S., I would always touch base with her. She was there for the AHHS 50th and 55th Reunions. Always laughing and cutting up. I will miss her. We
have all been blessed by knowing her.

Dear Tisa, Jimbo and family,
Came to the funeral, it was lovely. I cant believe the grandkids got up and gave such great tributes to Mama Skeet. It was so brave of them.
I found Jimbo again after all these years at Quincy Cahill's wedding. Now, I got to say goodbye to Skeet.
As I sat there in the church, my memories flooded back to the time my twin sister Cindy and I (we were teenagers) brought our silly little show mares out to Benbrook to "help" Jim Sr move cattle. I am sure we were no help at all. But I remember how lovely Skeet looked riding easily with us all. There were teenagers everywhere, riding, messing with each others horses. She looked thrilled for the crowd.
Jim Sr was so instrumental in my horse career. Now Skeet is gone. But strangely, I know Jim and Skeet and the wonderful times I spent are always in my heart. Every time I look at a horse, I will hear Jim's critique and suggestions. I have a AQHA World Champion and Leading Sire and I know where I learned how to select and make my stud famous.
I also still hear Skeet's laughter and see her smile.
All my love,
d

Tisa,Jimbo,Rebecca,John C.,Thomas,Dave and family:
I am so sorry to hear of Skeet's passing. She was a great great lady and everytime I think of her I remember the time Skeet took us (me & tisa and Rebeeca and John C.) to Holiday in the Park and we had the best time. I was so impressed that we didn't wait in one line the whole night because Skeet would plow through them saying "Grandma coming thru"! That was so fun and I enjoyed visiting with her the last time I saw her in October. I am praying for your peace and comfort during this sad time.

Tisa--I wish so much I could be there to honor your mother since she was such an integral part of my life.
She taught me to sew...then patiently tore out all the seams I put in backwards; she endured us digging through her drawers when we wanted to play dress-up...then obliged us by taking pictures.
She accepted me...even when I dragged you into trouble; she smiled even when I caused you to have an allergic reaction...right before the AHHS pageant.
Her smile always made me feel like she loved me no matter what I did (or talked you into doing!) I am so thankful for her influence in my life. She was a wonderful mother and a wonderful woman. I loved her dearly and will miss her so much.
I will be praying for you all.
Love you, Shell

Dear Skeet's wonderful family,
Skeet meant the world to my mother (Martha Enloe Sloan) and was a very dear friend of hers for many years. I will always be thankful to Skeet for her friendship to my mother. We had the opportunity to give a home to Skeet's horse Buddy for several years before he went to live in Skeet's backyard in town. Buddy was a precious little horse with a huge heart and a ton of character. He used to put "horse kisses" on Skeet's back windows. Everyone loved Skeet. In times of happiness and sadness, you could always count on Skeet to be right beside you offering strength and support so now please know that we are here for you. If there is anything at all we can do for you to help ease your pain, please let us know. Thank you for sharing Skeet with all of us - she will be dearly missed.
