My condolences to the Gannaway Family. I knew Janet when I taught at Effie Morris. Later I became reacquainted with her through her daughter, Hayley, who became my piano student at TCC NW campus. May she rest in peace. Remember, as long as you share memories of her, she will remain alive in your hearts forever. Gos be with you all.

Dear Gannaway Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I became aquainted with Mrs. Gannaway when my oldest daughter Courtney (Smith)Kitchen had her in 4th grade in the school year 2001-2002. I quickly grew close to her, she had a beautiful personality and spirit. She was wonderful to my daughter and was an awesome teacher. I was anticipating the possible placement of our 3rd grade daughter in her class next year, but God had other plans for Mrs. Gannaway. We will truly miss her beautiful smiling face at LWISD. She will not be forgotten. God Bless You All with comfort, strength and peace.

Our hearts broke with the news that Janet had passed from this life. Janet will always be remembered as the wonderful person, loving wife and mother and teacher that brought joy to everyone's life that had the occasion to know her, work with her or receive the benefit of her teaching in some capacity. Our family grieves with you in your loss, Jerry, and we pray that all of you will find comfort down life's road in the knowledge that the love you all shared together is a gift that can never be taken from you.

Janet is going to missed by so many people. My son had her as a teacher in third grade in 2004-2005. She always had a smile on her face. She has her wings and is going to watch over eveything we do. But she for sure will still have that smile on her face.

I've considered Janet a friend since I met her in first grade at Charles Evans Elementary. She was in my mind a bit of a celebrity in that her dad and uncle owned Howell Brothers Grocery, right across the street. It was a neighborhood institution. Rest in peace, my friend.
