JE Foust Obituary

J.E. Foust III "JR" GRAPEVINE -- J.E. Foust III "JR", 86, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Grapevine. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 2:30 p.m. Saturday Oct. 21st at First United Methodist Church Grapevine with burial following in Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday October 20th at JE Foust and Son Funeral Chapel, Grapevine. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Grapevine Medical Lodge, 1005 Ira E. Woods Ave., Grapevine, TX 76051 JE was born April 16, 1931, in Fort Worth, to J.E. Foust II "Jake Foust" and Lillie Bateman Foust. He was a life-long resident of Grapevine where he graduated from Grapevine High School in 1948. "JR" also attended North Texas State College, (UNT) in Denton. He was a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science earning licenses in Funeral Directing and Embalming. Foust served as co-owner and manager of J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Directors from 1958 until his retirement in 1995. A civic leader, Foust served as president of the North Texas Funeral Directors, 59-60, Grapevine city councilman from 1966-67, and Director of the First National Bank of Grapevine. He was two-time Past Master of Grapevine Masonic Lodge no 288, as well as Worthy Commander of no 19 Moslah Temple Shrine. He was a member of the Grapevine Historical Society, Past President of the Lion's Club and charter member of the Grapevine Rotary Club. He was a member of the Grapevine First United Methodist Church and former trustee. He was very proud to tell anyone that he was an Eagle Scout. A gifted speaker on subjects such as the Civil War and the history of Grapevine. His lectures were enjoyed by many. He was well known for his quick wit, dry sense of humor and slick story telling ability. He is preceded in death by his parents father, J.E. Foust II and mother Lillie Bateman Foust, and wife, Marilyn Paine Foust. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his children, daughter, Amanda Foust of Trophy Club, son, John Foust IV and wife, Donna of Denton. And daughter, Adair Foust of Grapevine. lu
