Jean Rhodes Mack

1927 - 2014

Jean Rhodes Mack entered Heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, where she was greeted by her loving husband of 46 years, Harold Edward Mack; infant son, Michael Rhodes Mack; parents, Houston and Fannie Rhodes; brothers, Raymond, Forrest, Jimmy and Johnny Rhodes; sisters, Clara Lacy and Faye Duke; and grandson, Jon Lee Rogers. Jean was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Pecan Gap, Texas. She met the love of her life in Dallas, where they married, on Dec. 20, 1947. In 1949, they settled in Arlington and raised their family. Jean wore many hats, from room mother and Girl Scout leader, bookkeeper and income tax preparer, to those of her most cherished roles of wife and mother. She was active in her church and was known for her hospitality, wise counsel, homemade pies, love of God, people and parties. She is survived by her son, Wayne Mack (Sue) of Mansfield; daughters, Karen Harris (Jim) of Hurst, Dawn Rogers (Mike) of Chandler and Donna Anderson (Steve) of Pantego; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Jean's final party will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, at Lamar Baptist Church, 1000 W Lamar Blvd., in Arlington. Her celebration begins with visitation/viewing at noon in the church foyer, followed by the service at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary. Interment to follow in Moore Memorial Gardens.
