James Gurganus Obituary
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00am at Ramsey Funeral Home with Bradley Olsen of Grace Bible officiating.
Bubba was born in Fort Worth, Texas to James Richard Gurganus and Beatrice Mills on July 15, 1960.
He went to school at Diamond Hill High School. He married Vickie Leschber on October 7, 2000, in Arlington, Texas at Grace Lutheran Church.
As a young teenager, Bubba worked at J&B Truck and Trailer Repair. He enjoyed everything about the trucking and trailer industry. He owned and operated the company, working alongside family members including his grandfather, uncle, brother and later his stepson, Travis. His experience led him to The United States Postal Service, where he continued his career with the trucking industry for 26 years.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed, "Deer Camp", as often as he could. When he was not hunting, you could find him watching Lifetime movies or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or Texas Longhorns. He worked hard until he retired in 2024 from the Postal Service. He moved to Georgetown and enjoyed the peaceful quiet lifestyle with his wife, Vickie. He was always so proud to show off his sons and their accomplishments as well as his grandchildren.
Bubba is preceded in death by his Mother Beatrice Elmore, Father James Richard Gurganus and Stepfather Monty Elmore.
Bubba is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vickie Gurganus of Georgetown, his sons Cory Gurganus of Georgetown, Travis Howell (Christine) of Hickory Creek, three grandchildren, Logan, Paislee and Oakley of Hickory Creek, brother Richard Gurganus of Fort Worth and numerous friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to be made in support of the American Heart Association.
