Jesse Press Obituary

Jesse Dale Press, 74, a retired U.S. government employee, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Caddo Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.

Mr. Press was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Mooreland to George William and Maybell Adams Press. He married Rita Pate in July 1955 in Gainesville. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired from NASA after 31 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and grandson, Jesse Dale "Bubba" Press III, in 1998.

Survivors: Wife, Rita Press of Joshua; sons, Jesse D. Press II and wife, Dawn of Mansfield, Danny Leslie Press and wife, Laura of Joshua, Daniel Press of Joshua; daughters, Sabrina Sohrabi and husband, Bob of Friendswood, Melody Romaker of Joshua; 12 grandchildren; and two expected great-grandchildren, one of whom will be Zoey Nicole Jesse.
