I worked with John for a summer. It was my first real work with horses and I learned so much from him. I have often thought I would like to speak with him again and I am so sorry I missed the chance. My sympathies (I am sorry I am so late) go out to you, he is missed.

Renee,
I always thought of both you and John as strong horse people. Determined. Talented. A devoted team. I lost my dad at 68. It feels way too young. I'm glad you have Ashlee, as my mom still has me, now 25 years later, after his passing, it's still just the 2 of us. I hope you and Ashlee remain close. Father's day is never easy. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Renee, I just want you to know that I always appreciated John for being so kind and gracious to me when I first started coming to horse shows. I was a new outsider to the Saddlebred world, and he made me feel welcome.

I met John over 40 years ago when he became an assistant trainer to Don Judd in Simpsonville. He was a very talented horseman especially with the young horses. He was kind and had a great sense of humor. My prayers are with his family especially Renee and Ashley. He will be missed.
