To the family of Mr. Ross,

I was remembering Mr. Ross today even now years after his passing. He was my biology teacher at Eastern Hills but more importantly a true American hero. I treasure the opportunity to have known him.

To the Ross family,

I am so lucky to have had Mr. Ross as a teacher. He made the class so fun and was such a gentle spirit! He was what the definition of a teacher should be. I truly wish we would have all told him that at the time! What a great loss.

TO THE FAMILY OF MR. ROSS:

MY FONDEST MEMORY OF MR. ROSS, AND THERE ARE MANY, WAS MY SENIOR YEAR WHEN I FOUND MYSELF TAKING BIOLOGY FOR THE THIRD TIME! I HAD MR. ROSS FIRST, MS. BALASKI SECOND, AND AT CLASS REGESTRATION MR. ROSS' COMMENT TO ME WAS, "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO TRY ME AGAIN?" I DID, AND I PASSED. I SPEAK OF HIM OFTEN, EVEN SOME 35 YEARS LATER. I AM SAD. MIKE TRAMEL EHHS, 1968

Dear Mrs. Ross,

I am truly saddened at the passing of Mr. Ross. He was my science teacher at Eastern Hills and he was my favorite all time teacher. He really made me WANT to learn. He made science my favorite class. He was an inspiration to me because of the life he lived and loved. You and your family are in my prayers.

Truly,

Retta Hayes

Mrs. Ross,

Mr. Ross was my biology teacher when I attended Eastern Hills 67-69.

He was always an inspiration to me not just because of his knowledge, which is vast, but also because of his gentle nature. When I think about the most fun I had at Eastern Hills, and when I think of where I learned the most, it always comes back to Mr Ross's biology class, around the corner, at the top of the stairs. We were all aware of his POW years, and there were many stories about what he went through, but the fact that he was such a professional, such a scholor, I think it all made us try even harder, and appreciate the standard he set as an educator, without dwelling or even asking about his war years.

I will always think of Mr. Ross with kindness, and even today, I think of him often.

Sincerely,

Danny Owen

Mrs. Ross,

I want to add my name to the long list of people that are saddened greatly by the passing of your husband. He taught me every thing that Handley High School had in science and then that first year at Eastern Hills. He was my home room teacher in the 7th and 9th grades at Handley and I tell you truly, I still love him today!

I can only say that I lift you up in my prayers!
