John Rumsey Obituary

John Rumsey was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Italy, Texas, to Jim and Mary Henderson Rumsey. He married Virginia Fields Aug. 28, 1953, in Dallas. He was an officer with the Dallas Police Department from 1954 to 1978, retiring as a lieutenant. From 1978 to 2001, he served as the corporate nuclear security consultant at the Comanche Peak Power Station. Mr. Rumsey served in the U.S. Army, was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Granbury Shriners. He resided in Granbury since 1977.
Survivors: Wife, Virginia "Jynne" Rumsey of Granbury; daughters, Zan Brown and husband, Jim, of Glen Rose, and Robin Goller and husband, Wayne, of Arlington; grandchildren, Lynnsey Goller, Luke, Micah and Paige Brown; brothers, Rob Rumsey and wife, Betty, of Duncanville, and Roy Rumsey of Hamilton; stepbrother, Eugene O'Brien of New Iberia, La.; and stepsisters, Ester Wooldridge and Beula McKinzie, both of New Iberia.
