Joshua Lloyd Obituary

Joshua Daniel Lloyd, husband, son, brother, missionary and friend, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by his family, due to a courageous fight against cancer.

Josh was born in Provo, Utah, on Oct. 28, 1987, to Dan and Cindy Lloyd.

Josh was born with a zest for life. He loved spending time with his family. He loved spending time in the outdoors, biking, soccer, rock climbing, and the list could go on and on. He spent many hours riding with his biking buddies.

He graduated from Minico High School in 2006. He was a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

He found great joy in serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served a full-time mission in the Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada, Mission.

On Aug. 22, 2009, Josh married his sweetheart, Megan Stucki, in the Rexburg, Idaho, Temple. You could tell how happy and in love they are just by looking at them.

Josh will be remembered for his fine example of service, love, a soft-spoken voice, good humor and obedience.

Josh is survived by the love of his life, Megan Lloyd; his parents, Dan and Cindy Lloyd; brother, Cameron Lloyd; sisters, Linsey (Clay) Allen and Keisha Lloyd; nieces, Ryley and Reagan Allen; and grandparents, Marvin and Lovel Blacker and Zon and Martha Lloyd.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, March 3, at the Paul LDS Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis in Paul, Idaho, with Bishop Albert Belliston officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hansen Mortuary, 710 Sixth St. in Rupert, and for one hour prior to the services at the church Saturday.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of the Huntsman Cancer Institute. They will forever be in our hearts.

A benefit account has been set up in Josh's name at D.L. Evans Bank.

I did not know Josh personally, but am a good friend of Keisha's from Logan. I have been touched by Dan and Cindy and their loving/giving nature and taking me in as a friend/family of Keisha's. I hope that you all know you are in my prayers and am blessed to know your family! Marie Pittman (Pocatello ID)

I continually find myself breaking down into tears over Joshua's death. Not because I fear the afterlife, but because there are people on this earth who will never have the opportunity to see his example. He taught me to be the type of person I didn't know was possible. He saw the best in me, and in everyone he met. He always had Faith, and even in his death I can hear his voice reminding me to have Faith for those that loved him. I will miss him.

Even though I never met Joshua I am sure of what a great man he became, I know his father and what a great example. Dan and Cindy I am so very sorry for your loss it just breaks my heart that bad things happen to such good people. You are both in my thoughts. I know it was very disappointing that Mom and Dad werent able to make it for the services. My deepest condolences.
Love, Lori(Thaxton)Olson

I was serving as Branch President in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia a few years ago when Elder Lloyd served in our Branch. You know how every once in a while a missionary comes along and you just have to say Wow. That was him. Wow! He was a great missionary and a wonderful example of service and dedication to the Gospel. He will make a great missionary on the other side, I am sure.

I really liked how Josh made jokes with Megan at choir practice and then it always ended when she said, "Well we're doing this because I said and I'm choir director!" Also, Josh and Megan were such a great example of living life, not just surviving it. They went on vacations, they wrote love notes, they rode bikes, they were never too busy to enjoy their lives.

I knew Josh from our missions in Canada and from time spent as students at BYU-Idaho. We crossed paths only a handful of times, but each time we did, he would go out of his way to talk with me and ask me how things were going. Few people do that. He was a good man. I am blessed to have known him.

I will always remember that I learned the proper way to bear ones testimony from Josh. So sincere and simple. A missionary forever.
