"Pinky" was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Enid, Okla. She attended Adventist schools in Missouri. She moved to Texas as a teen-ager, where she met and married Bud. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 25 of this year. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family more than can be expressed. Her primary hobbies were sewing, fishing and travel. She was a member of Fort Worth First Seventh-day Adventist Church. After the youngest of her five children entered school, she attended nursing school and graduated at the top of her class. Pinky worked at Cleburne Memorial Hospital, All Saints Hospital, and Cook Children's Hospital, all in Fort Worth, specializing as a surgical tech, before she became too ill to continue her career. Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Parriott; sister, Lee Trotter Laird; brother, Patrick Henry Trotter; and her daughter, Patty Combs Elliott, who also died from polycystic disease.
