Service: A private family gathering Sunday morning will honor her memory.
Jodie was a woman who lived through good times and bad and always had love to give to four generations of children and grandchildren. She was the shining example that taught all of us to be better parents and grandparents. Her resolve never faltered. She always had love and encouragement for her family. She taught us all the importance of family and how meaningless material things are compared to that.
Jodie cherished the 46 years she had with the love of her life, Stephen. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She will always and forever be "The Corley in us."
Survivors: Her husband, Stephen; her daughter, Joan Ballew; granddaughters, Sheri Bartay and her husband, Louis, and Jeri Boswell and her husband, Jerry; and great-grandchildren, Terry Wiley, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Clifford Wiley, stationed in Iraq, Perry Allen Lunsford, Christopher Lunsford and April Hall. The fifth-generation children are Coyt Ransom, Maverick Wiley, Coty Hall and Kyle Hall.

Still think of you often. You would be so proud of Cliff. He is running for Congress and is a high school history teacher. Maverick is living with us now and he is doing well. Mom is doing amazingly well. Jeri has had a rough year, but still has the Corley in her. Love you so much.

It has been awhile. I love you and I feel REALLY bad that I didn't get Kyle out to see you. That was really bad on my part. Only you know how bad I feel about not having atleast a picture of you two together. I do know that you are watching over him though. You are the best Angel I could ever ask for. I know you are watching over all of us. I love you and miss you sooo much.

This last year has found many moments where I catch myself thinking of things I would like to tell you. Time has passed so quickly. I know you are looking down on us and smiling when you see LA and I with Maverick.
I love you and miss you so much.
You are forever the Corley in me.

Hello my wonderful Mother.
It has been a year now. I miss you so very much. There are so many things that I want to tell you and share with you. We are doing well. Steve had a bad fall in the bathroom and got pretty banged up but did not break any bones. We have now added more safety grab bars on there for him. He has been really great with a good attitude. He is trying to have a normal life. P'nut spent most of the day here with me. She was a tremendous help. We had good thoughts and though about the happy and wonderful time we shared with you. She had Toots with her part of the day. She is three now and so very beautiful. Grandaddy would have been nuts about her. She is very loving. I talked to Sheri several times today and wished that she could have been here with us. Perry Allen called to check on me. He and Brandi are expecting a baby in March. I am going to Fort Worth for a few days next month.
I have two gardenia plants and are both growing and look so good. I couldn/t do it without you. I know that you are with God now and also Grandaddy but I miss you so much it hurts. I was so blessed to have you for my Mother. I love you.

Jodie-I miss you so very much. There are so many things that I want to tell you and show you. Steve and I are doing really good. He has really opened up here. April's kids all adore him and he responds to them. He has been really good to me. We have a beautiful yard that Steve keeps mowed. We have a stand of pine trees in front and have all kinds of critters visiting each day. He feeds all of them.
Our gardenia is doing well. It was covered with blooms Mother's Day weekend and I felt your presence. I love you so much. Joan

Our loved ones leave the world, but not our hearts. Jodie is part of who we are, of how we see the world and how we live our lives. Those priceless gifts are ours forever. T, Nikki, Mav

Sheri,
At times like this it's hard to find the words to say ...Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...Please keep in mind goodbyes are not forever and nor is it the end...the true gift is that love remains and memories you will keep in your heart forever and beyond of your Grandmother Jodie...The Bible says when sorrow comes it will endure the night, but joy shall come when dawn breaks through and fills your day with light....with my deepest sympathy for your loss, know you are in the thoughts of others who share with you, your loss and pain...My deepest sympathy!

The passing of our precious Jodie, was a loss to all. She was a role model that has touched the lives of more than even she knew. Her faith in the Lord shown through her life and love and we can find comfort in knowing that she is walking the streets of glory. We will all miss her daily, but will try honer her by continuing her lessons of love and family thru each generation. What a joy to have not only known and love her, but to have been her granddaughter.
