Lois Wisbrock Obituary

Lois Wisbrock
April 22, 1944 - September 22, 2022
Arlington, Texas - Lois Annette Gabbard Wisbrock passed away on September 22 surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was born on a farm in Wayne County, IL near the town of Geff where she grew up with her 2 sisters, Peggy and Margaret, and brother Joe. She graduated Salutatorian from Fairfield High School and left for Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where she met the love of her life, George Mathews Wisbrock, Jr. whom she married in October of 1967, just ahead of Mat's deployment to RAF Bentwaters, England. Lois and Mat raised a family of four sons as they moved from England, back to Illinois, then to Pasadena, TX before moving to Arlington, TX in 1986.
While being an amazing mother to her four sons, Lois was also an amazing teacher. She began teaching Kindergarten then continued teaching both 2nd grade and Homebound students in Sandoval, IL, then Pasadena, TX and finally in Mansfield, TX at Charlotte Anderson and Glenn Harmon Elementary schools. After retiring, she and Mat traveled to many places in Europe, Alaska and throughout the rest of the United States. Lois enjoyed visiting with friends and family, as well as playing or baking with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband, George Mathews Wisbrock, Jr. (Mat), sons Mike Wisbrock (Denise) and David Wisbrock (Jennifer), both of Arlington, TX; Geoffrey Wisbrock (Catherine Lee) of Austin, TX; John Wisbrock (Emily) of Richmond, TX, her brother and sister and their spouses, both of the Fairfield, IL area, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 5 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W. Green Oaks Blvd. in Arlington, TX 76013.

She was my son's 2nd grade teacher. The most amazing, patient teacher he ever had. Such a blessing to us.

Lois was a wonderful person with whom to work. She had a personality that was always positive, and she loved her family so much. She will be missed in this world but will enjoy heaven, seeing old friends and family. I know you are sad now without Lois but know that she is close enough for you to talk to where she is and will be smiling at you from heaven. Jo Ann Smith

I met Lois when I was school secretary at Glenn Harmon Elementary. Lois was a sweet and caring lady with a big heart. She loved her family and will be missed by all.
