Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lora Bird was born March 25, 1914, in Paluxy. During World War II, she worked for General Dynamics for the defense effort. She married Virg Bird Dec. 24, 1941, in Weatherford. She was a seamstress in Granbury and a member of the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Minnie Teal Boyd and by brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Husband, Virg Bird of Granbury; sons and daughters-in-law, J.W. and Evelyn Groom of Arlington, Martin A. and Dolores Groom of Granbury and L.D. and Frances Groom of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three nieces.
