Mac Vincent Obituary

Mac W. Vincent Sr., 75, a retired school superintendent for the Chico ISD, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Arlington.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the DeBerry Funeral Home Chapel, Denton. Pallbearers: Eric Vincent of Decatur, Cullen Vincent of Denton, Kenneth Dodd of Krum, Kevin Marshall of Krum, Dan Grundy of Era and Michael Zangoei of Era. Burial: Jackson Cemetery in Krum. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton.

Mr. Vincent was born April 10, 1928, in Graford to Walter C. and Lula Elizabeth Edgin Vincent Sr. Her married Oreta Carter Aug. 4, 1950, in Mineral Wells. They had been married for 50 years at the time of her death Aug. 11, 2000.

Mr. Vincent was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He earned a master's degree from North Texas State University. Mr. Vincent was a member of the Church of Christ, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. He was superintendent for the Krum ISD from 1962 to 1978 and and the Chico ISD from 1978 to 1986.

Mr. Vincent was preceded in death by his mother; father; and a sister, Joan Hinshaw of Decatur.

Survivors: Daughter, Sharla Boles of Denton; sons, Mac Vincent Jr. and wife, Lou, Brian Vincent and wife, Martha, and Kevin Vincent and wife, Rena, all of Krum; brothers, W.C. Vincent of Gainesville and Walton "Buddy" Vincent of Texas; six grandchildren.
