Mary Duncan Obituary

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Toal Duncan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, just 13 days shy of her 93rd birthday. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday in Garrett Chapel of Rosen Heights Baptist Church, 2524 Roosevelt Ave., Fort Worth. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: none scheduled. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Rosen Heights Baptist Church in her memory. Liz was born in Fort Worth on Dec. 28, 1917, to William E. and Sadie Elmore. She grew upon the north side of Fort Worth and was so very proud of that! She graduated from North Side High School and married Edison Toal in 1937. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, known as "Gammy" to all the grandkids. She was a lifelong member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church and a 78-year member of the Good Cheer Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edison Toal and Sam G. Duncan. Much love and thanks go to the wonderful employees of Hearthstone Bedford Assisted Living for their love and care of our mother. Survivors: Daughters, Sharon Toal Meshew of Bedford and Peggy Hinman and husband, Bob, of Austin; son, George Toal and wife, Becca, of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and quite a few great-grandchildren.

Sharon, I have such fond memories of your beautiful mother when we were teenagers at Rosen Heights. What a blessing that Good Cheer class was to our mothers. Your family is all in my heart and prayers.
