Michael Barbieri Obituary

Michael Paul Barbieri
April 15, 1960 - January 12, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Michael Paul Barbieri, widower and father of three children passed away at the age of 60.
Michael was born on April 15, 1960 in Bayshore, NY, to Charlie and Ella "Babe" Barbieri. He received his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Weber State University in Utah in 1982 and worked in the aeronautics industry for nearly 40 years, most of those years at Lockheed Martin. On September 22, 1984, he married Corrine Mary Conway. They raised 2 sons, John and Daniel and a daughter, Lauren.
Michael had a passion for life. He loved his family deeply and made sure that they knew it. He was kind and compassionate, with a strong faith in God. He had a strong moral compass, and wasn't afraid to speak his mind or to stick up for the bullied and weak.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Charles, mother, Babe, brother, Thomas, and beloved wife, Corrine.
He is survived by his children, John, Daniel and Lauren; brother, Charles; sisters, Nancy and Maryellen; and countless other loving friend and family across the country.

To Michael's family and friends - I met Michael at WSU and we became good friends there. We hadn't talked until a few years back, when he found me on a game we both played online where you would draw a picture and the other person guessed what it was - we had a blast. After I joined FB he found me there and we have DM each other several times over the years. I wondered what had happened and checked in a few times, I thought he must have just dropped off FB for a while. I googled his name, thinking I'd find his phone number and saw this. My heart is broken for you and him - he went through so much with his health for so long. I wasn't prepared to read he's already gone. I'm sure the reunion with Corinne and his parents was amazingly beautiful. He was a good, kind person and I loved and valued his friendship so very much. I'm sure you still miss him dearly, and I'm sure he misses each of you as well. God bless <3

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Michael's passing!! I first met Michael in Kindergarten and traveled the same hallways and shared numerous classes throughout our grade, middle and high school years and the one thing that always stuck in my mind was that he was a very sweet, kind and fun friend!! As was the case before technology, we lost contact until the dawn of Facebook and Classmates and I was so happy when we reconnected and enjoyed many many chats over the last 10 or so years. I will miss those and seeing him at class reunions.
My deepest sympathies go to his 3 children, his siblings and many friends!! As sad as his passing made me upon hearing it my first thought was "oh his poor kids but oh how happy he must have been to reunite with his beloved, Corrine!! Rest well Michael, you have earned your reward!! Peace, blessings and prayers to all who loved him!!

Mike, my dearest friend of 30 years. I'm so saddened to think you and I wont have our talks about life, work, family and I cant laugh again with you. I will miss you so much. I loved hearing about all the delicious food you cooked too ! You were such an caring, respectful, giving, moral, funny and kind person. Always thinking of others and fighting for the right thing for everyone. Always helping people at work or volunteering. Thank you for being my friend !

I believe one of your God given gifts was your kind generous heart and the ability to see in people what they could become and inspire them to be more, you could also see someone for who they were and accepted them. You have such wonderful children who you loved very much, I always loved hearing what they were up to. You can be with Corinne now, you loved her so much, your soul mate. Prayers and deepest condolences to the Barbieri and Conway families. Mike was an amazing person !

Mike was a great FSL leader and a progressive leader who always thought outside the box. Mike single-handedly lead the charge during the JSF build up to hire more diversity candidates from diversity schools. He talked the talk and walked the walk always asking the questions "Why not". I will treasure your friendship forever, you will not be forgotten. You will live on at LMAero with your smile and servant leadership. Rest in Peace my Friend!

In my 30+ years of working at LM I had the opportunity to work with Paul on projects. I found him to be a professional who took pride in his work, and a good sense of humor along the way. I know he will be missed by many.

John, Dan, Lauren, Barbieri and Conway families,
Michael was an amazing man, but you know that better than I. He had the ability to make everyone around him feel cared for and important to him, a rare gift and a great loss for all who knew him.

As a cousin-in-law, he made a point of saying, “We’re family. I love you.” And now I’m telling you, we’re family. I love you, and I share in your profound loss.

(He also made the best spaghetti on the planet!) ♥

Deepest sympathy, love, and John Conway hugs to you. Always.
