Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at North Hills Funeral Home, 8525 Mid-Cities Blvd. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
Michael was born March 14, 1984, in Houston.
Survivors: Daughter, Jasmine Caster; parents, Brenda and Mario Phillips; father, Tyrone Powell; sister, Michelle Caster; brother, Brandon Caster; grandmother, Rosa Caster; grandfather, Blanford Caster; grandfather, D.C. Powell; grandmother, Anna Mae Range; and many friends and family.

Your in my thoughts daily, I can't let go the hug you gave me the Saturday night you went to hang out with your friends, it was the tightest hug ever, Like if you knew it was your last one for me. I felt it I still do, yes your outfit was new clean and always you LOL ..... You doing your dancing you grew into the young man you wanted to be the dad to your daughter , you had a smile that no one would forget, I miss you so much. But I'm getting threw it it's hard but son momma will make it just give me time.

Although I feel him in my heart, I would give anything for a couple of moments with him... to see his smile... to hear his voice... to hug him and know once again the feeling of a good friends love.

It is with heartfelt sympathy and great sadness to hear about the passing of Mike. No words can adequately express the sentiments of my heart, nor soothe the pains that are piercing Tyrone,Mario and Brenda,and other's heart as you all grieve the loss of your child/loved one. I know exactly what you are going through right about now because of the loss of my daughter in June. At this time, the only thing that I know will work is prayer. We ask our Father for comfort according to 2 Corinthians 2:3. We know that his grace is sufficient. So, let the assurance of peaceful rest be consolation during this time of sorrow. To Mike's family and friends,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
My son, Jake, brought "Big Mike" to my house many times to crash after a night of dancing. I woke up many mornings to a living room with Jake on the couch and Mike wrapped up like a coccoon in a blanket on the floor! Mike was always so full of life and always very respectful to me and my home. When I got the call that Mike was gone it was so hard to grasp. He was a good man and a good friend to my son. He will be missed by all who knew him.

To Mike's family, I am soo sorry for your loss and I will pray for your family. Mike was awesome, to say the least. Every time I saw him or heard his beautiful voice the room would some how brighten and no matter what everything felt fine. Please raise his daughter to love life that way as well. We'll miss him alot.

My most fondest memory of Mike is... My sis got a new car, we drove to mikes 2 story home and picked him and 2 of his boi s up. we went back to my house and Mike said "I'm Hungry" me being a young woman just out on my own, had no food. I told him this.. He goes... "Oh I'll make something happen" he went in my fridge and my pantry and put together something he calls soul food, oooo.. and they ate it all too!! I had to clean the mess up but its all good.. I miss you mike!!

To the family of Mr. Caster,we offer our deepest condolences. My husband and I did not know Mr. Caster, but unfortunately were witnesses to the accident. My husband and myself are saddened that we could not do anything to help and we will keep you in our prayers. As parents of a 3 year old, we know this is especially tough for his daughter. Just remember that you have a piece of him everytime you look at her.

Mike you will always be in my thoughts and heart, you were a great friend! I can always cherish the memories that me and you shared over the 7 years we knew eachother...everytime i go to Lake Worth i will remember all of our fun times, with you, me and leah.. and gettin people to let us ride there jetski..what a blast we always had! And one of the best times i've ever had was when we went to Bora Bora and WE controlled that place and even little Brandon and Will was there!! I will always remember when you and your family lived in the apartments off of Glenveiw, those were wonderful times! Oh and You and Jason casein on me cause my hair was auburn and called me "April O'Neal" LOL...i will never forget anything..i can't it's permantley engraved in my head and heart for life!! We were a big part of eachothers lives no matter what or who we were with it was still the same!! And something happened that i know you wanted to happen... And Mike and i'm so thankful i got to share my life and heart with you and just to be able to say i know that man, he was a great, honest, careing, not a bad bone in his body, no one was a stranger and no one i mean no one could ever have a frown on there face, he wouldn't allow it! I could go on for days about Mike!(sorry i had to get all that out)
But to his family I'm so sorry for your lose and I wanted to tell Brenda and Mario that you two raised a great son, i've never met anyone like him in my life and i dont think i ever will again! Mike was defenatly one in a million, and i have ya'll to thank for that. I love your son so much I've shared so many great memories with him, i wish i had pictures but there all burned in my memory forever and to Brandon, Little B or well Big B now,i love you kid and im sorry. Your brother was a wonderful guy, and you know how much he loved you and i know you will make him proud. He will be watching over all of us and guiding us out of rough paths that we may face. He would not want us to hold are heads down, so keep your a head for Big Mike. Please send Jasmine my condolences.

When I heard the news about Michael I was speechless. I have known the family for about 5 years now and I feel as if I am part of the family. Brenda, you have always been there for me and I never forget all that you have done for me. Ya'll will be in our prayers. Brenda, don't worry about Michael, dad will be taking care of him.
