Monte Ferrell Obituary
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale. Burial: Dover Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
Pallbearers: Bob Freeman, Cliff Sammons, Frank Wright, Rob Ferrell, Drew Ferrell and Mark Gray.
Mr. Ferrell was born Sept. 12, 1934, in Kilgore to Thermon Gus and Blanche Stevenson Ferrell. He lived in Clyde during his childhood and was formerly of Wichita Falls and many ports of call before moving to Fort Worth 35 years ago. Mr. Ferrell retired from the Navy, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He also owned and operated a construction business and tavern.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of you, especially Patty Blackwood.
Survivors: Sons, David Ferrell and Gale Hunsucker, Jeff Ferrell, Alec Ferrell and Tim and Rhonda Ferrell, all of Fort Worth; daughters, Julie and Bob Freeman of Bedford, Annie and Cliff Sammons of Fort Worth and Monica and Tim Miller of Walnut Springs; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Doug and Pat Ferrell of Kennewick, Wash., and Frank Spann of Silver City, N.M.; sister, Sandy and Buzz Whiting of Springerville, Ariz.; and many loving sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and caregivers who have meant so much!

David and family,
Your Dad was a pleasure to work with. He really enjoyed making us laugh, and was a very hard worker. He was very proud of all of you. He often talked about his family. Our thoughts are with you.

I wish I could have met Mr. Ferrell. I would have loved to shake his hand and say thank you for your service in Korea and Vietnam. May God Bless David, Gale, and all family and friends who were blessed to have such a Veteran come into their lives. May God give you peace through such a difficult time. You're in my prayers.

Monty C was a dear friend of mine 30 years ago. He & his brother Steve would patronize the place where I worked & I became fast friends with them & their spouses & sons. They were all such nice people. Monty C had a little tavern on Belknap where he was so kind to my sister in the last days of her life. Monty C was a trooper. He will be missed. God Bless all his loved ones.
