Neva Sara Bentley Longenecker, 90, of Elkhart, Ind., and formerly of Texas, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, Ind., with Dave Severance, director of Chaplaincy Services, Hubbard Hill Estates, officiating. Visitation: The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Indiana. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Ashtola to George Allen and Sue Ella Brooks Bentley. She married Jack Longenecker on June 4, 1944, in El Paso; he died June 8, 2001. Neva was a member of the First Baptist Church, Keller and formerly a member of Calvary Baptist Church, South Bend, Ind. As a homemaker, she loved sewing, gardening, being with her family and a good game of 42 or skip-bo. She was a wonderful baker and a great cook. She was a resident of Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart, Ind., and the family would like to express deep appreciation for their great care and loving attention given to Neva. Preceding her in death are her loving husband, Jack; and brothers and sisters, George, L.K., Adell, Ed, Mozelle, Brooks, Cecil, Anne, Sue and Maxine. Survivors: Sons, John Bentley (Joyce) Longenecker of Centreville, Va., Chester David (Tonda) Longenecker of Southlake, James Fredrick (Judy) Longenecker of Elkhart, Ind.; grandchildren, Eric Longenecker, Jenny (Mike) Wenzel, Lori (Ernie) Keresztes, Jason Longenecker, Sara (Chris) Smith; great-grandchildren, Sam, Julia, Danielle, Neva, Will, Jack and Bentley; brother-in-law, Joe (Norma) Longenecker of North Webster, Ind.; sister-in-law, Pat Longnecker of Warsaw, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
