Norman Graf Obituary

Norman Dexter Graf, 71, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, shortly after suffering a heart attack. Graveside service: Friends and family are invited to attend his graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Guardian Funeral Home. Norman was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Waco, one of two sons born to the late Alvis and Elle Mae Graf. He was married to his wife, Aldoris, in 1958. Norman and Aldoris had three children, Ray, Sherry and Timothy. Norman had a very strong work ethic and was a dedicated employee of Montgomery Ward for 41 years. He worked hard to provide for his family, always putting their needs ahead of his own. Norman had been enjoying retirement for the past 11 years. Norman was very generous and frequently gave to many charities. He was a dedicated friend, father and husband. He was a great conversationalist who always had good advice to offer when asked. Norman will be remembered for his lifelong passion for classic cars and motorcycles. Survivors: His surviving wife, Aldoris; and children, Ray, Sherry and husband, Michael, and Timothy and wife, Jo, will think of him fondly and miss his support and advice. He was a caring grandfather to Sara and Christian Perry; brother, Gary Graf and wife, Beverly; and his aunt, Hazel Alford. He will also be fondly remembered by his cousins, Tommy Alford and wife, Silvia, Billy Graf and wife, Barbara, and Jo Graf. Norman will also be missed by his very close and dear friends, Larry Dixon and Billie Johnson.

My deepest sympathy to all the family and friends. I knew Norman when I first worked at MW in 1960. After moving to different departments, I seldom saw him, but always remembered him as a very pleasant and helpful young man,and had the highest respect for him.
May God comfort you and give you strength,
Sylvia Skinner
