I wish I could turn back time to the moments I sat in Opal's kitchen in Kennedale as a distant grand-nephew,
in the days when her happiness lit up the world.
Even now, from the other side of the planet,
I can still remember how precious she and her sister (my grandmother Gladys) both were in this world.
I was merely a child back then,
but her impression on me was,
even to this day fifty-odd years later,
unforgettable.

What a wonderful woman! We were so happy to be her adopted grandchildren. Even in so much pain she always had a happy thing to say, an encouraging word and her mind was keen. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Mrs. Opal was such a sweet lady. She always had a smile and was a joy to be around. May the family be comforted in knowing they will see her again in heaven. What a family reunion that will be! We were blessed that we had the pleasure to know her and her family.

I only knew Opal a short time as she was the roommate to my sweet mom at Trail Lake Nursing Home until my moms death in October. Opal and I had many many great talks every day. She loved The Lord so much and it showed. She always had a kind word. I came to love her very much. I know she is happy to be with her loved ones in heaven. Her family was so special to her and the ones I got to meet were so kind. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss Aunt Opal's beautiful smile and her kind heart. I know she's in a better place now, happy to be with Uncle Harold again. I'm so glad I got to see her in March. Love and blessings!

Mrs. Patterson was always a kind and considerate lady and neighbor of many summers ago who was more than able to keep two sons in line.

My grandmother Nellie Sims and Opal's Mother were sisters. My Mother Inis Sims Kahler and Opal were first cousins. My grandmother passed away before I was born, but I remember Aunt Sarah and Uncle Paul and most of their children as a child going there to visit with my parents. Even have some photos. My Mother kept up with them and kept me up since I married a man in the military and were stationed many places ending up in Mineral Wells, TX. My Mother went to meet Jesus in 1996 and she has so many loved ones she is with now. You will miss Opal as I have missed so many of my loved ones, but we have God who sent his Son Jesus and I believe we will all meet again. Have some photos of some family gatherings at Aunt Sarah's and Uncle Paul's house taken when my Aunt Helen (my Mother's sister) and her family would come to Texas for a visit. Opal is in some of them. My prayers are for you and your loss. Wanda Kahler Rusher
