Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Earl Strittmatter was born March 29, 1952, in Fort Worth. A 1971 graduate of R.L. Paschal High School, he worked in the sheet metal fabrication industry, retiring after 20 years of service.
Earl was an advanced karate student. He was praised as a wonderful babysitter and companion to his younger brothers and sisters in their early years. He possessed a unique ability for communication with children and offered them a special love and understanding.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Ruth Nolte Strittmatter; and brother, Jerry Lawrence Strittmatter.
Survivors: His father, Walter E. Strittmatter; daughter, Jacynda Hodgdon and her husband, Chris; son, Walt Channell and his wife, Christina; grandchildren, Christopher, Ricky, Samuel, Mary Beth, Dejauna, Gavin, Ethan and Felicity; sisters, Cheryl Ablon and Virginia Cope; brothers, Edward and his wife, Sherri, Kirk and his wife, Kathy, Glenn and his wife, Terry, Chris and his wife, Judy, Mark and his wife, Julie and Kevin; several nieces and nephews; true friend and confidant, Brenda Turner.

I am saddened to hear of his passing. Sincere condolences to all the family for this loss. We'll keep him in our prayers and rememberances. I remember Earl from my days at St. Andrews. He went to school with my younger brother and was in Mom's cub scout den.
