Patrick Wilhoit Obituary

Patrick F. Wilhoit, 81, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011. Service: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Pat was born June 8, 1930, in Collinsville, Ill., to Phillip F. and Elizabeth Wilhoit. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an officer in the Submarine Service. Pat retired from the U.S. Navy in 1964. He was a caretaker of lost and injured animals. They always seemed to find him. Pat was a lifetime member of the University of Texas Exes and the Retired Officers Association. Pat was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife of 45 years, Joyce Wilhoit; sister, Joan Olson of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Lynette Smith; brother-in-law, Kerry A. Smith and wife, Jenny; nephews, Mark Olson and Nathan Smith; and nieces, Lezlie Bennett and husband, Landy, and their family, and Rachel Evans and husband, Dennis.
