Rebecca Hatchett Obituary

Rebecca Lynn Hatchett

January 28, 1959 - July 14, 2025

Fort Worth, Texas - Rebecca "Lynn" Hatchett, 66, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Lynn was born in 1959 and attended Paschal High school and Texas State University, where she formed lifelong friendships as part of the Texas Strutters. It was there she met the love of her life, Ross Hatchett, and they were married in 1986.

A brilliant and dedicated math teacher, Lynn impacted the lives of countless students and their families with her sharp mind, generous heart, and unwavering support. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for whether in the classroom, at home, or in the community.

Lynn was a perfectionist in the most loving way. She poured her creativity and care into every detail of her life. An exceptional homemaker, a DIY guru, and the one who made every holiday, birthday, and gathering feel magical. She never missed an opportunity to decorate for the biggest and smallest of events, making every occasion a special one. Her selflessness was one of her greatest qualities. She consistently put the needs of others ahead of her own and did so with quiet grace and a warm smile.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ross; her beloved children, William and Tinsley; her cherished granddaughter, Harper; her loving sisters, Alyson Outenreath and Sheryl Tumlison; sister-in-law Rivers Teske and husband Paul Teske; cousins; Robert Bost, Robyn Maxwell, Terri Jeter, Rusty Cudd, Larry Ashby and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Outenreath; her step-father James Outenreath; and her father James Tumlison.

Lynn's life will be honored at a memorial service on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at La Puertita at Joe T. Garcia's in Fort Worth. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

I am so saddened to hear of her passing. I was a senior Dixie Doll her first year of teaching in Mansfield. I was her aide for her second period class as well. I loved her. Prayers for her family during this difficult time.

I was fortunate to get to know Lynn well in our senior year at Paschal High School. I will always remember her infectious smile and her very funny laugh. Lynn was also as sharp as a tack and I'm pretty sure she was the smartest student in our calculus class! I also remember her love of the Eagles, Jimmy Buffet and especially Jackson Browne! Lynn always had a smile and a nice word for everyone she met. To Lynn's family, I know God will give you the strength to get through these difficult days.

Although l never had the pleasure of meeting Lynn, you could say l knew her from my friend Ross. He always spoke lovingly about Lynn and how strong she was.

I offer my deepest condolences to Ross, their children, family members and friends.
