Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Northgate United Methodist Church in Irving. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Joe Poole will officiate. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Caring Bridge at www.caringbridge.org.
Richard was born Nov. 13, 1946, in Fort Worth to Thomas Weeks and Lillie Clements. He graduated from Trimble Tech High School in 1965. He attended UTA and then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 in Germany. He owned and operated the Dairy Queens in Irving and Flower Mound for 25 years. He continued working as a claims adjuster for Cambridge until a year ago. He and his family have been members of Northgate UMC in Irving since 1982.
Survivors: His most beloved wife of 41 years, Janan Weeks; daughter, Michelle Weeks; son, Jay Michael Weeks and his wife, Jennifer; grandsons, Bryson and Brenner; brothers, Edd C. Weeks and his wife, Lillian, and Lee Dingle and his wife, Carole; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Weeks; mother, Lillie B. Mueller; and sisters, Ailene Dunavan and Peggy Ann Reves and her husband, Van Reves.
