Bob-o! Every time my ears ring, pop, drain or feel a little full, I think of my kind and loving godfather who never was too busy to see me as a patient, whether it was in his office or him making a house call after work. I remember his headpiece and otoscope, him telling me to say "ahhhh." He inserted tubes in my ears twice (thrice?), and removed my adenoids and tonsils. Not many chronically ill children are lucky enough to receive regular house visits from their otolaryngologist.... I was such a lucky kid! and I appreciated every moment spent with him. I appreciated every moment spent with him outside of the office! I rarely can remember my dad's voice, but I can remember him enthusiastically saying "Bob-o!" and I can remember how kind Bob always was to me. How he always encouraged me along. He was an incredible athlete - tennis player, diver, cycler - and he always was so active. Just today my mom reminded me of how we would sit by the high dive and watch him acrobatically twist and flip into the water. I'm sorry I won't be in Ft Worth for the reception but I send my warmest wishes to the Burkett family.

I was a patient of Dr. Burkett back in the 80´s and he performed my first stapedectomy. He had the best bedside manners always with a gentle smile and he called to check on me! My deepest heartfelt sympathy to his family and God's blessings for comfort and peace

I fondly remember Bob. I referred almost every patient to him for almost 20 years. He was so caring, always there when one of my patients needed him, and would personally call parents at night after day surgery. He will be missed

Dr. Burkett did my daughter's tubes at the young age of 2 months old; he stated that she was the youngest and he would take care of her. He was her ENT for at least 4 years. He was a great bedside physician & that calmed a parents fear.
