Lakeway, Texas - Roland Dale Wright, 83, of Lakeway, Texas (retired painting contractor) passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Tuesday morning, October 19, 2021. Roland was a fun loving man who worked hard and played hard. He had his pilot's license and owned a series of planes, the favorite being a Mooney. He lived at a fast pace which may be why he was so fond of his 1978 Porsche 911. He dabbled in horse racing and owned a first place winner named "New Step". He restored watercraft including a motor yacht that he kept for several years on Lake Texoma. He also restored firearms, and at the age of 82 with a hundred and one year old savage riffle that he had restored, he took his first deer. Finally, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading and making home brews. Friends where always welcome in his home and upon departing he would shake their hand, look them in the eye and say, "you've been a good friend". The truth is, his life was anything but dull and the twinkle in his eye will be missed by all those who knew him. Roland will join his wife, Deborah Suzanne Wright, who preceded him in death. He leaves behind three daughters; Lydia Carole Eskildsen, Diane Elaine Sanceri and Nancy Jo Forage, six grandchildren; Frank Dale Sanceri, Adam Bernard Maasch, Elizabeth Anne Sanceri, Christopher Phillip Calvin, Ian Lester Maasch and Madeyson Elise Maasch, and three great-grand children; Brecken Maasch and Abigail Sanceri and Mia Maasch. Roland's desire was to be cremated so that he and Debby could have their ashes cast into the ocean according to Debby's wishes. A ceremony will be held in celebration of the dynamic duo. The family is planning the ceremony for December 1, 2021, which would be their 49th wedding anniversary. Ashes will be cast at sea over Neptune Reef off the coast of Key Biscayne, Florida (further details pending)
