Just thinking of you

Maureen - My husband, Bob, and I want you to know of our shock and sadness at the passing of the gentle giant of a man we got to know through our brief meetings when with our daughter and son-in-law, as we visited them in Aledo. We only met with you a very few times, but I told my daughter we instantly felt like we had been friends with both you and Roy for years. What a blessing to know both of you. Roy was so fun and easy to know with his quick wit, love that shined for his family and his immense love for the Lord and the stories he told that included all of those same attributes. We will miss knowing he is no longer around for us to visit with when we are in Aledo, but we rejoice in knowing he is pain free and sitting in the living presence of the Lord sharing his wit and stories with all the saints. At the same time, our heart is heavy for you and we will continue to lift you up in prayer asking for you to daily gain more and more peace that passes all of our understanding.

Oh my gosh. I haven't kept up with the obits in a bit. I am so sorry for your loss. Roy gave me a chance, when he thought I would be one of the first to go. I am so sorry I wasn't there for the service. My thoughts are with you Maurine, Luke, Adam, Nina and Mr. Thomas, as I called him when he came to eat.

Hey Roy,
Just went to your service. It was great-you have a lot of friends. The thing that resounded was your love - love of God, your wife, your boys and families, your Dad and your sisters, your friends, and from the turnout, a lot of love for you. As I write this, all I can think of is how much I will miss you, and who will I talk to about who got the best deal and who worked the most in the yard. I will miss you my friend. I know I am a better person for having known you and to have you as a friend. Till we meet again- Love you, Bill Jenkin
