Steven Brennan Obituary

Steven James Brennan, 47, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 28, 2016. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, in the chapel of J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the parlor of J. E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 South Main St., Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Grapevine Elks Lodge # 2483, P.O. Box 1923, Grapevine, Texas, 76099. Steve was born to Frayne and Joyce Shropshire Brennan on May 27, 1969, in El Reno, Okla. He met and married Donna Rowe Brennan on March 11, 1995, and together they had one child, a son, Samuel James Brennan. They also raised Steve's nieces, Jessica Brennan and Courtney Bottoms. He was a very active member of the Grapevine Elks Lodge where he has been a member for over six years and was currently serving his second term as the Exalted Ruler. He loved all types of music and was an avid reader. Steve loved all types of movies, but, most of all, he loved taking Sam to see a super hero movie. He was a great cook and smoking meat in his smoker was his specialty. He loved bacon! Steve loved watching football and OU was his team. He was so proud of Sam starting his first year of football at Grapevine Middle School this year. He loved t-shirts with funny sayings on them and was always buying them for him and Sam. He had a wonderful sense of humor and knew just when to use it. On a beautiful day he enjoyed riding motorcycles with Donna. He was preceded in death by his father, Frayne Brennan, and a brother, Allan Brennan. Survivors: Steve is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Samuel James; nieces, Jessica Brennan and husband, Jon-Paul Stewart, who are expecting a son this month, Stanton Allan, Courtney Bottoms and husband, Bret, and daughters, Kennedy and Kolby; mother, Joyce Brennan; father and mother-in-law, John and Debbie Rowe; sister-in-law, Angela Metcalf and husband, Jack; brother-in-law, Craig Rowe and wife, Susan; three nieces; four nephews; and a host of other relatives in Oklahoma.

I am so sorry for your loss . Although your hearts are filled with pain and sorrow , my prayer is that you gain comfort and hope from God's promise to reunite us with loved ones on the earth , never having to say goodbye again . For Jesus will make this earth the problem-free paradise that his Father intended it to be . I have gained comfort and strength from this promise , may your family do the same .

Donna and Sam. So sorry for your loss. Nothing prepares you for such a great loss. I've always admired Steves compassion and sincerity towards his family. He was always willing to step up and do what was right for the family. I always enjoyed his company and will hang on to the memories that he left behind.

Steve was always a good man and great friend. We we're best friends from 7th grade on. Inseparable for the most part. Although I've only seen him a few times since we graduated, I hold nothing but fond memories of him and he will always be one of the finest people I've ever met. May God bless his family as they go through this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy to the Brennan family. It was so touching to see Steve share how proud he was of his son, as he presented his football jersey to him just a few short weeks ago. What a treasured memory to hold in your heart forever. Praying for God to provide strength, comfort and encouragement to you and the whole family.
