Steven Weeden Obituary

Dr. Steven Henry Weeden was welcomed into heaven in his home on August 13, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a remarkable doctor, artist, friend, father, uncle, and brother who touched the lives of countless individuals.

Steve was born in Pasadena, Texas on April 17, 1968, to Linnie and Bobby Weeden. He is survived by his two daughters, Emma and Riley Weeden; his sister, Jessica Allen and husband, Kelly of Longview, Texas, their children, Zac Allen and Haley Eager; his brother, Joe Weeden and wife, Skye of Austin, Texas, and their children, Mary Catherine, Walker, and Annie Grace.

A proud Spring Hill Panther and Baylor Bear, Steve was known for his academic excellence and commitment to learning and education, and was the first in his family to pursue a graduate degree. After graduating from Baylor with a degree in Chemistry, Steve went on to attend the McGovern Medical School at UT Health for his medical degree. There, he solidified his passion for orthopedic surgery, and went on to complete his residency at Texas A&M College of Medicine-Scott and White Medical Center ('95). Steve was recognized as a Top Doc in Fort Worth Magazine various times from 2003-2014, as well as celebrated in Fort Worth Business Press' 40 Under 40. An editor for the Journal of Arthroplasty (AAHKS), he was passionate about continuing research and growth in the field of hip and knee arthroplasty.

During his career as an orthopedic surgeon, Steve helped numerous patients with his personalized and intentional medical care. Steve was known for his attention to detail both in the operating room and during patient rounds, and many of his patients traveled across Texas and the US to receive quality medical care.

Outside of his career as a physician, Steve contributed to the community through his work with Heart to Heart Hospice as a volunteer liaison. He was an active member of Hope Works church, and a close friend to the pastor, Shane Gray. In his free time, Steve pursued his love for painting and drawing, carpentry, gardening, and music. Steve loved his annual deer hunt every winter in South Texas. Some of his favorite things were walking his dog, Nico, volunteering, reading, cooking, and watching movies, all of which were most enjoyed with his twin daughters. Many of his paintings hang in his friends' homes, his church, and were featured on CBS Local News.

A celebration of Dr. Steve Weeden's life will be held at Hope Works Church on Saturday August 23, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. and will be open to all friends and family to celebrate and honor the life of Steve. Emma and Riley Weeden are requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hope Works Church or the Recovery Resource Council of Texas.

Steve was truly loved and cherished by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. In the face of this loss, we find comfort in the words of Romans 8:38-39, believing that Steve is now held in the everlasting love of God.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.

Yesterday

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Weeden´s passing. He was a wonderful doctor who did several surgeries on me. I was a challenging patient and he kept my walking. He had a great sense of humor and made time for me during my hospital stays. I had to remain in the hospital several weeks and he even sent me flowers. He will be missed by so many

Dr. Weeden replaced my right hip 12 years ago and got me back doing what I loved most (working out). I really enjoyed his sense of humor and giving him a hard time about taking care of himself so he could do my other hip if necessary.

"Dr. Steve Weeden was known for his deep compassion and the genuine care he showed his patients, many of whom he considered part of his extended family.

He also brought a wonderful sense of humor to the operating room, a gift that uplifted colleagues and patients alike.

He will be deeply missed-peace and blessings, Dr. Weeden."

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Dr Weeden. He performed my double knee replacement 7 years ago and changed my life!
