Teddy Ray Darnell

Tedd Darnell, 69, a loving husband, father, "Paw" and friend, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, 76053. Jay Johnson will officiate with tributes by Eric Wahlberg and Darren Darnell. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. in Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, La., officiated by Pastor Chad Hardbarger. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Scott and Glen Darnell, Brian Furqueron, Mark Harman, Stan Kappus, Fred Mapel, John Swofford, Eric Wahlberg and Don Watson. Tedd retired from Exxon Mobil after 35-plus years of service. He was a graduate of Plain Dealing High School in Plain Dealing, La., and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Clara Darnell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gene and Doris Giles; brothers-in-law, Thomas Ray Furqueron and Donnie Giles. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 47 years, Dianne Giles Darnell; son, Darren Darnell and wife, Angela, of Waco; daughter, Melissa Kappus and husband, Stan, of Grapevine; brother, Jim Darnell and wife, Glenda, of Hurst; sister-in-law, Gwen Giles of Benton, La.; grandchildren, Lauren, Riley, River and Hunter Darnell, Logan and Ramey Swofford, and Ashley and Isabella Kappus; great-grandson, Carter Barnes; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
