Thomas Nast Obituary
Eucharist of Christian Burial: 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, the Rev. James Frederick Barber, celebrant. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y.
Honorary pallbearers; T.L. Shields, Bobby Malone, Nick Martin, Todd Corbett and Brad Corbett.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to VITAS Hospice; or to a charity of choice.
Thomas Nast was born Dec. 28, 1914 in New Rochelle, N.Y. He graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., in 1937, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He served in the Navy during World War II.
In 1948, he joined Kensico Tube Co., Mount Kisco, N.Y., and in 1970 moved to Fort Worth to join Robintech as an executive. He then joined J.M. Elkin Co. and continued to work with them until his death.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Shady Oaks Country Club, and was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Nast; and his son, Thomas Nast Jr.
He had been the last surviving grandson of Thomas Nast, political cartoonist.
Survivors: Wife: Melda (Mike) Nast and daughter, Carol Nast.
