William Morton Obituary

William Frank Morton Jr. BENBROOK -- William Frank Morton Jr., 71, passed from this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, due to complications of pneumonia. CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. MEMORIALS: Should friends desire, his memory may be honored with a gift to Benbrook YMCA or Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook. Bill was born on Sept. 29, 1946, in Fort Worth to William Frank Morton Sr. and Bonnye Cushing Morton. He graduated from Nolan High School in 1964, where he played baseball, basketball and football. He served in the U.S. Air Force with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree. He retired from Roadway Express in 2008. SURVIVORS: Wife of 27 years, Gail; daughter, Paige; son, Brian and wife, April; grandchildren, Vance, Reese, Bonnye and Parrish; brothers, Larry and wife, Shelly, Tim and wife, Kathy; many nieces and one nephew; and his Shih Tzu "babies", Frankie, Louie and Chloe.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Morton family. Bill and I flew combat missions in Vietnam together and I will always remember his great smile. Rest in peace brother.
