William Sanguinet Obituary

William Meredith Sanguinet Jr., 93, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at a local hospital.

Funeral Mass: 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas. Father James Harnan will officiate. Interment: Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County. Family visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.

Memorials: Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department, 408 S. Main St., Lampasas, Texas 76550.

William Meredith Sanguinet Jr. was born Sept. 3, 1912, in Dallas, the son of William Meredith Sanguinet Sr. and Lucy Maud Clark Sanguinet. On March 17, 1937, he married Dorothy Imojean Toal in Fort Worth. He was a master plumber, member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #100 for many years. He retired from plumbing at age 62, and he and his wife, opened Thunder Bay Truck Stop in Cleburne, which they operated for 20 years. Mr. Sanguinet also worked at the testing site at Los Alamos, N.M., where the bomb that ended World War II was built.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Maud Sanguinet; and brothers, Robert M., Francis H. and Jack Sanguinet.

Survivors: Wife, Dott Sanguinet of Lampasas; daughter, Pamela Jean Sanguinet of Fort Worth; son, William Meredith Sanguinet III and wife, Janet, of Lampasas; grandchildren, Andrew Jason Sanguinet and wife, Kelli, Jody Shane Sanguinet and wife, Leslie, and Victoria Marie Sanguinet Tower and husband, John, all of Lampasas; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Brianna, Caitlyn, Colton, Cody and Colbi Sanguinet and Emily Tower, all of Lampasas; and brothers, Buddy Dick Sanguinet of Ennis and Thomas Means Sanguinet of Gladewater.
