I met Bill several years ago while he was volunteering at DFW Airport. He was an inspiration to me from the first handshake. We became friends and played a few rounds of golf together. He was 78 yrs old and was able to shoot a 78. I introduced him to former Dallas Cowboy Butch Johnson. They became friends and we all played golf together. Bill was a great instructor in the game and in life. I also introduced him to some people in Fort Worth who might have been able to help get the Jim Thorpe film remade, but nothing ever came of it. I think today we could have made that happen. The story is still begging to be told. Bill was a good friend and a great man. He will be missed. My heart goes out to his family and all who loved him.
