Alex James Obituary

James Alex James, age 98, of Columbus, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Westminster-Thurber. He retired from the City of Columbus Water Department. Alex was a former employee of the Lustron Corporation and author of "An Employee's Perspective of the Lustron Home". He is preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters. Alex is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dora "Polly" James; children, Jeff (Rhonda) James and Sue James; grandchildren, Donald and Cassie James; many nieces, nephews and beloved dog, Ralphie. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington. Jim Hopkins, Elder, officiating. Burial Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at: www.RutherfordFuneralHome.com

Hugs and love to the James family. Alex was a great friend and an inspiration and his spunk and humor will be greatly missed. So happy we had the chance to help document his life. Goodbye, my friend!!! It was a life well lived. ❤
